Bible School
Last week was vacation Bible School at Mary's church. They didn't have a class for Ryan's age, so he went just to hang out with Matthew. Actually, they both just went to Liz's class. There weren't as many kids this year as some years. The theme this year was "Fisher's Of Men". I thought Mary and her family did a great job decorating.
Mary and Jess always teach the crafts class.
The Crafts is in the fellowship hall with the Kitchen.
Mary's mother-in-law taught a class and she did the coolest thing. She brought a real boat and put it in her classroom.
She taught the 10-12 yr olds. I bet they loved it.
Mary had some really cool crafts too. They made a boat to float in water.
I can't wait for Haley to play in the bath with it.
One night I took Haley. She had a blast!! That night Mary had the kids fishing from a pool. Haley thought it was really cool.
Haley was the youngest of her class. The other kids were four years old. It was really cute to see her with them.
The truth is I really had a hard time getting her to stay in her seat. This is the first time she has ever been in a class with other kids. And, she is only one year old, so I guess I cannot expect too much.
See, she is getting up to play.
I kept working with her to keep her in her seat. Cause, I'm sure if she ran all over the class, the other kids would too. After they colored, they went to music class in the santuary.
It was so cute to see the kids singing with the hand motions. Haley thought is was just fun to watch them and be with them. They were going back downstairs for their Bible lesson after music. I was afraid Haley could not sit still, so I took her next door to Mary's house. We colored and played with Liz's dolls. It was so much fun. Haley loved it.
Ryan had a great time hanging out with Matthew. One night and two days he spent at Matthew's house. If I wasn't able to get him there, Mary picked him up (Thanks Mary!).
The last night I went to pick up Ryan, I got to see Matthew's stuffed fish. Matthew is great at catching fish, and this is the biggest fish he has caught. His grandpa had it stuffed for him.
It weighed five lbs. It looks really cool hanging on Matthew's bedroom wall.
And since I am on the subject of Matthew--This summer he joined the high school football team. They are practicing four days a week from 8AM-10AM. It is a grueling workout. Sometimes I wonder if they push too far.?? Anyway, he loves it except for having to get up early during summer vacation. I asked him if I could take a picture of his muscles so I could put it on my blog.
I am well known in my extended family for taking pictures and putting them on my blog. He wouldn't let me. "shaking my head"
Matthew has a great sense of humor. The other day, Mary stopped by Granny and Papaw's while I was taking care of Granny. I went out to see their car and Matt was there waiting on her. He sang me this long (very funny) rap song he had just made up. I was dying laughing.
I am so thankful for my neices and nephews that love the Lord. Ryan has some great cousins. I am thankful Ryan was happy to go spend the week with Matthew at Bible school and that Haley was able to experience a little bit of it. God is so good to us.

I love that Bible School was Fishers of Men! I made a shelf for a friend's boy with that theme. I will put it in my photos tomorrow so you can see it. I think Haley is adorable at Bible School. How cute! I can't see either baby girl or Addie Jane sitting still through that and they are the same age as Haley! In time
She is so adorable! You can be so proud grandma!!!!!
WOW! They did wonderful!!!
I really like the way they did the balloons!! Just may do that at the baby shower. Thanks for the inspiration! lol
And whoever the taxidermist is on that fish, they did a GREAT job!!
And nope, for a one year old to stay seated when there are so many goodies around- that WOULD be hard!
@oldfatgramma - You have made me feel so much better. I was kinda worried about her not being able to sit still. I can't wait to see your pic!!
@victoriantomboy - Yay! I'm glad to give you an idea. I think the artistic gene went to Mary.
I love Matt's fish. He had that fish in the freezer forever trying to save enough to get it stuffed. Finally, his grandpa had it done. I'm sure it cost a pretty penny.
That baby wore me out running after her! lol I think if the class had more little ones her age, they would have all been running around and she would have fit right in. She was just a tad young for them.
