  • Christmas Day

Christmas Day we left around 6:30AM to go to Andrew and Nikki's.  We wanted to get there as the babies woke on Christmas morning.  We got there around 8 and Haley was just getting up.  She was so excited.  Haley was so precious.  She opened up a couple of gifts and she didn't want anything else.  She just wanted to play with what she had opened.  The whole time we were there, she never opened all of her gifts.

Andrew and Nikki got Haley a little dog that walks and barks with a remote.  She was a little uncertain of it at first but quickly fell in love with it.

    She had to show Papaw.

Look how she is playing and smiling with her puppy.  I love it!

    Showing Mason her puppy

    Mason got a Jumping Johnny.

Andrew and Nikki got Mark a pistol.  He had no idea what it was.

He couldn't believe it!  Look at Haley's little hand.  It is like she is saying what is this???

He was so excited he shed a few tears.

It thrilled them that he loved it so much.

They gave me $100 because I was taking all my Christmas money to get an inexpensive laptop.  They gave Ryan a really nice desk chair and a cordless mouse and keyboard.

Every year I give Andrew and Nikki their Christmas money before Christmas and they buy their gifts and Nikki wraps them.  I buy for the babies (which is the fun part).  We usually get something for Andrew and Nikki together.  Sometimes it is a joke, sometimes it is separate gifts, and sometimes it is just something they can both enjoy.  This year I put together a photo book of the year with pics of Mason and Haley.  They loved it.

I tell ya, it was so hard to do.  I thought I was going to go crazy trying to put it together.  I had no idea it would be so hard.

Andrew gave Nikki a very nice camera and camera lens.

Nikki fixed very yummy french toast casserole for breakfast and I brought some sausage balls.  Everything was so good.

Haley loved her dad and papaw playing in her room.

And she loves her Uncle Ryan.

Andrew talked to Mark about the gun, and Nikki checked out her new camera.

It seemed like we didn't spend much time there are all.

We left their apartment around 11:30AM and drove straight to Nana and Papaw's  We ate lunch, opened gifts, and visited with them until 4:30PM.  We had such and enjoyable, relaxed time.

By the time we got home, it was close to 5.  We were tired, and Ryan had not even opened his gifts from us.  We gave him a computer and desk.  He put together his desk and hooked up his computer.

I could hardly stay awake to watch him.  Next year, I think we are going to have to do some things differently.  I am thinking we may need to celebrate with Nana and Papaw on Christmas Eve since I my family has changed our get-together to another day.  It was just too exhausting to have so many places to go.

I have lots of pictures to upload for Christmas, but I have misplaced my camera. "sigh"  So, I had to make a post so I can edit it later and add the pictures.  Hopefully it didn't fall out of my purse!

Edit:  Ok, I found my camera!  PTL  It had fallen between the seat in my car.

  • Christmas at Sandra's

For at least 30 years (maybe more) we have celebrated Christmas at my sister Sandra's house on Christmas Eve.  Now that we are caring for Mom and Dad, we are having to change things.  This year we gathered the Saturday before Christmas.  There are now nine great-grandkids, so there were a lot of babies and toddlers.  You all know how I love little ones.  After looking thru my pictures, I was sad that I didn't get pictures of all of them.  The oldest great grandchild is Rylee.  I got the sweetest pic of her reading to my aunt's friend.  He is 96 or 98 years old and still going strong.  He and my Aunt Bernie have been friends for six years.  I love him so much (and her too).

The youngest great grandchild is Amelia. Amelia's mom and Rylee's mom are sisters. Amelia is @ two months old.

    Haley loved her.

Haley loves Kevin too.  He was sitting there telling us about his pacemaker and Haley crawled up beside him and just sat there. :)

See how Kevin's arm is strapped to his side?  He could not move it until the place in his heart healed where the wire was inserted.  He felt it go in his heart.  I just cannot imagine!!!

    Here are the three stooges.

Jared always has to tease me by looking away. Doesn't Ryan look so excited that I am taking his picture?

When I took their pic again, they were all looking toward the living room.  Don't ask me what was going on.  I don't remember.  There were so many little ones and it was crazy (a good kind of crazy).

This is my most favorite couple!!!

Nathan and Leanna   This is what she had to do to get him to look at the camera.

Hahaha  They are young and full of life.  They are always cuttin up and wrestlin around.  Ahhh to be young again.  In all seriousness, she is supposed to graduate in June with a Master's Degree.  Nathan graduates in June too.  I bet we will hear wedding bells after that.....well, after they get jobs of course. :)

    Martha and Mason

He talked and talked to Martha.  His little voice got loud.

I love this picture of him touching her face.

    So, so sweet.

There were so many sweet and precious littles there.

Martha has some really good pictures on her phone, but I couldn't get them today.  I will try to insert them later.  I still have more Christmas to blog, but I have to take care of Mom the next four days.  So, I am not sure when I will get to it.

  • Our Christmas Season

When I get behind on journaling, it makes me overwhelmed to even blog. I know everyone is doing New Year posts, but I have to catch up on my Christmas journaling.  This is when it makes me uncomfortable that other people read my blog.  Not that I don't love you guys.  I truly love you lots!!!!  I am just not comfortable with my writing.  April Jo gave me lots of encouragement when she told me it was my blog, and to blog what I like.  Soo.....bear with me while I go back to Christmas. :)

Well, a little before Christmas....    I usually go down to see the grandbabies every week or every other week.  As I was driving down before Christmas, I got the bright idea of taking a bunch of pictures of their whole family in front of the Christmas tree.  I called Andrew at work to remind him of all I do for him so he would agree to do it.  Before I could even finish he said, "what do you want???"  hahaha  He agreed to let me take the pics.  Andrew came home worn out and decided he doesn't want to go thru with it.  Nikki is already getting ready and I am helping her get the babies ready, so he can't back out.

Needless to say, it was not a happy situation.  But, miracle of miracles, I got some really cute pictures.  Not professional pics, but wonderful memories!!!

I would tell Haley if she laughed it would scare me.  She would laugh and I would get all scared.  Then she would really get tickled and I would take her pic. laughing

I love this pic of Mason sticking out his tongue.  He is telling me to stop!!!

I will cherish these pictures forever.  I love these babies (and Mom & Dad too) so, so much!!
